Kazimierz Linda's work is translated by
Dorota Zegarowska was born in 1952 in Wrocław into a family of patriotic and military traditions. In 1964 she moved to Warsaw, where she attended Economic High School. In 1970 she emigrated to USA, where she graduated Immaculate Conception High School and completed studies at the faculty of English and American Literature at Hunter College City University of New York.
Along with other students she set up a Polish Club of Hunter College.
She enjoyed translating short stories since her high school years. As a college student she worked as a tour guide around United Nations Headquarters of New York and around New York City. She held courses of English language at Polish parishes in New York. She participated actively in works of Polish-American organizations in New York such as: Kosciuszko Foundation, Polish Institute of Arts and Science, Joseph Pilsudzki Institute, Polish-Slavic Center.
After her return to her native Poland she worked for various international companies as a translator. She co-operated with various non-government organizations as a translator. Presently she runs her own small business as a translator and interpreter for a number of state-owned and private translation agencies, specializing in following areas: literature, education, economy, film, geography, history, marketing, media, politics, psychology, transport, tourism. She feels at her best translating literature.
